About
Words & Politics
Words & Politics analyzes online political media: the streams, podcasts and shows that political creators publish on YouTube and Rumble, hundreds of channels talking for hours every week and titling thousands of videos a month. Taken together they are a large and complicated system, far more than anyone could watch, and most of what is said about it is impression. The site's purpose is to turn that volume into information a person can use: to count what is actually there, to find the connections and the features that only show at scale, which words travel together, which stories touch, how one channel resembles another, and to lay out how each finding was reached so that a reader can judge it rather than take it on trust.
The site publishes articles on varying topics in that material, each answering one question from data, and makes games for people to play, which are their own way of measuring the same voices. How a game works and what it records is on its methodology page.
Words & Politics is an independent project: no advertising, no sponsors, no accounts, no analytics scripts and no third-party trackers anywhere on the site. Reading an article records nothing. If you find it useful, you can chip in toward the hosting.
